April signs one-year extension

Le Col – Wahoo is excited to announce that April Tacey has signed a one-year contract extension with the team through to the end of 2023. The 22-year-old – who celebrates her birthday today, 12 October – is a valuable member of the squad and has impressed by working tirelessly for her teammates as well as achieving her own solid results in the UK and Europe over the last three years.
April has shown promise in both classics and stage races as she continues her development as a young rider. She had this to say about staying with the team for another year.
“I’m looking forward to continuing with Le Col - Wahoo next year and I’m grateful for their continued support and guidance in helping me reach my goals. There is a great atmosphere within the team which I feel is key to our success. I am super motivated for next season and I hope to play a key role in achieving even greater results with the team.”
General manager Tom Varney echoed April’s excitement at staying with the team.
“April has proved herself time and time again throughout the last three years with the team as a dedicated rider who works tirelessly for her teammates. Her development at some of the most elite races in the world has not gone unnoticed and we’re excited to see how she continues to flourish as a rider throughout 2023.”
While April will be enjoying the off-season now, she’ll be back in action next year and looking forward to making her mark in the classics and stage races that she says she believes, “suits her strengths”.
