One more year for Moberg
Drops-Le Col supported by Tempur is pleased to announce that Emilie Moberg has extended her contract for another year.
The 30-year old from Norway has been a solid member of the team since 2020. Emilie has shown her strength this season with a brilliant 4th place at Scheldeprijs before she narrowly missed out on the top honours at the Norwegian national championships.
Next season the Belgium classics will remain a clear target while providing a wealth of experience to guide the younger riders to navigate the seasons biggest races.
Emilie commented “Before I started this season I said that this might be my last year as a pro. After the good spring campaign with the team, I got the feeling that I am not done with my career and I am very happy to announce that I will continue with Drops-Le Col in 2022.
This year we have created, together, a team environment where we all can develop as individual riders and as a team, and it’s very motivating to be a part of it. Personally, I still feel that I can develop as a rider, and a person, in this team and I am not done yet. I really enjoy our team spirit, it’s both professional and relaxed, just how I like it. I am very happy with my role in the team; we have a good mix of young and experienced riders, I am one of the older and it’s nice to be a part of guiding them into the women’s cycling world, and at the same time, I learn a lot from the riders and staff in the team too.
We also have a good race program, a strong team for the classics and we all get our chances. I am happy to have the opportunity to chase my dream for another year and fortunate to have the support, both from the team and from home, and a body and mind that still says yes.”
Team Manager, Tom Varney commented “Emilie is a key member of the team, both on and off the bike. Her professional approach in her training, preparation and racing is a positive influence on those around her. She has shown this year that she still has fuel in the tank and we’re delighted to have continue with the team.
