We are delighted to announce that for the 2021 season Drops Cycling Team will become Drops-Le Col supported by TEMPUR.

Current partner, British performance clothing brand Le Col, are stepping up their support as title sponsor, and are doubling down their investment having spent the past two years with the team developing some of the most sought after women’s kit in the pro-peloton. By increasing their support this year, Le Col is determined to make an example and show ambition and drive in women’s cycling, where others have failed.

The team is excited to welcome premium mattress and pillow brand, TEMPUR, as a new sponsor. The partnership consolidates TEMPUR’s position within cycling, building upon on a successful relationship with track cyclist and Olympic medallist, Callum Skinner. Dedicated to improving the sleep of more people every night, our riders will be sleeping on TEMPUR mattresses and pillows at home. We also will be taking TEMPUR products on the road to enhance the performance of our riders’.

Yanto Barker, founder of Le Col explains “We firmly believe that to nurture and develop the next generation of female sports stars, brands need to commit and show ambition in Women’s cycling, that's why we are proud to expand our support with DROPS, and enable them to continue to be one of the most exciting cycling teams in the world”

Drops-Le Col supported by TEMPUR, will be a team that strives to compete at the very highest level, but also a team that wins. The intention is to take the team to the UCI Women’s World Tour by 2022, the very highest level of Women’s professional cycling.

The overall ambition for the team will be to become the most exciting racing team on the road - developing the best new talent and showcasing Drops’ iconic team heritage to new audiences, continuing to ‘Colour the Road’ across the world.

“Our vision for the future remains ambitious; to make our mark on the sport at the very highest level - on and off the bike – inspiring others in everything that we do. Having additional support from Le Col and TEMPUR not only ensures our riders have the highest quality performance kit on the bike, but also the highest quality support off the bike. Our collective thoughts are focused on building these exciting partnerships further to gain world tour status in 2022.” says Bob Varney, Team Director.

Tobin James, Vice President TEMPUR Northern Europe adds: “We are delighted to be a part of the Drops-Le Col journey for this very exciting season.  We are passionate about cycling not only as a sport but as a sustainable way of travelling and improving the health and wellbeing of people. TEMPUR mattresses and pillows will help the riders sleep better, longer, deeper and we feel privileged to be able to do our bit in promoting women’s cycling and women’s sport more generally. With consistent wins and huge potential, Drops’ vision for the future is both compelling and motivating, and we are looking forward to accompanying the team on the road to the World Tour.”
