Ella Wyllie in great position for Tour de France Femmes white jersey after opening stages
New Zealander Ella Wyllie has got off to a strong start at this year’s Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift for Lifeplus-Wahoo. She sits 2nd in the youth classification after the opening two stages, for which the leader receives the white jersey.
After a tough day of racing from Clermont-Ferrand to Mauriac which saw 6 categorised climbs and the most elevation metres of any stage of this year’s race, Ella finished in 31st place. That marks the best finish of a Lifeplus-Wahoo rider so far in the 2023 race so far.
Wyllie sits 1’21” behind white jersey wearer Cédrine Kerbaol, knowing that there are more climbs to come that will suit the Kiwi.
Other riders on the team are doing a strong job as well. Margaux Vigie suffered a crash shortly after the race started today but was able to keep going to finish in a strong group with teammates Kaja Rysz and April Tacey. Recent team signing Natalie Grinczer finished 48th and kept Wyllie in a strong position and out of trouble on today’s stage.
