Maike van der Duin re-signs
Drops-Le Col supported by Tempur is thrilled to announce that Maike van der Duin has extended her contract for another season.
Debuting with the team in 2021 Maike continually impressed with strong rides through our early classics season and a top 10 GC in the recent Tour de Belle Isle en Terre. At just 19 years old Van der Duin shows a lot of potential with strong stamina for the long and lumpy classic races and a punchy sprint.
Aside from her road racing, Van der Duin is still active on the track and recently competed at the u23 European Championships for the Netherlands where she had a successful week taking home the gold medal in the Scratch race, silver in the Madison and Omnium and bronze in the Elimination race.
Team Manager, Tom Varney “Having Maike in the team for next season was a no-brainer, she’s already made huge progress in such a short amount of time this season and we’re excited to continue working with her on maximising her potential. Off the bike, her personality and mindset is a perfect fit for the team.”
Van der Duin commented. "2021 was my first year with Drops and I feel I have already made huge steps in my development as a rider. I love the team’s vision and ambition to help me develop in the best way possible. I’m really excited to stay with the team another year and I am looking forward to the journey ahead!”
